Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year at Smithson PS!
For those students returning – welcome back! To our new families joining us for the first time, welcome to the neighbourhood!
School begins on September 14 at 8:55 for students with last names A-L, and on Sept. 15th at 8:55 for students with last names M-Z. Our staff will greet students in designated classroom cohort locations on the field to begin our new school year.
To comply with privacy legislation, class lists will no longer be posted on the outside windows or doors of your child’s school. At your convenience starting September 11th and throughout the weekend, you will be able to determine your child’s homeroom teacher using School-Day. When you log into your account, click “Schools and Groups” on the blue left hand side menu, then click “Your Classes.” This will show the classes and groups your child is linked to within our school. Homeroom names are in the form of 1/2A or 5/6B.
Once you have determined the homeroom, you can find the name of the homeroom teacher using the following list:
- K1 – Ms. Maloney (teacher) and Ms. Rzeszutko and Ms. Smith (DECEs)
- K2 – Ms. Perston (teacher) and Ms. Martin and Mrs. Vokey (DECEs)
- 1/2A – Mrs. Clarke
- 1/2B – Ms. Shimazaki
- 2/3A – Mrs. Harper
- 3/4A – Mr. Beitz
- 5/6A – Mr. Daub
- 5/6B – Mr. Stafford
