Smithson Walk for Water

On April 28, the staff and students of Smithson School went for a walk around the playground to help raise money for the Aveda Walk for Water charity. The money raised will help provide the world’s poorest people with access to clean water.

Ayah Malas, a former Smithson School student who is now in Grade 7 and part of the ME TO WE club at Stanley Park, led the initiative.  Staff and students were educated about the need for safe, clean water around the world.  Everyone walked the perimeter of the school yard and enjoyed a glass of cold, clean water at the end.

Thank you to everyone involved.  You raised $153.35.  This will go a long way in saving lives.  Check out the website www.iwalkforwater.ca for more information.
