1. MacMillan’s Fundraiser– orders and payment are due to the school by Wednesday, December 10th. Please pay by cash or make cheques payable to Smithson Public School. Orders will be delivered to the school and ready for pick up on Thursday, December 18th between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm
2. 12 days of P.R.I.D.E 12 Days of Pride began Wednesday December 3! We had our kickoff assembly on Tuesday and it sure was a hit! Below you will find a list of the daily events that will be happening so that you can help your child get involved.
Dec 3-12 Food Drive for the Food Bank of Waterloo Region
Thurs. Dec 4– Appreciation posters (make a poster to appreciate someone who works hard in the school!)
Fri. Dec 5– Decorate your classroom door (prize for best dressed door)
Mon. Dec 8-12 -Winter drive starts (we will be collecting hats mitts and socks)
Tues. Dec 9– Random Act of Kindness Day
Wed. Dec 10– Wear your favourite ugly sweater today
Thurs. Dec 11– student teacher hockey game (period 9 and 10) this will also be jersey day
Fri. Dec 12 – Friendship lunch * Red Carpet Wonderland*- dress up fancy for our formal winter turkey dinner feast. Order deadline on School-Day is Sunday, December 7th. No late orders will be accepted.
Mon. Dec 15– outdoor soccer games (1 hour) Hot Chocolate and bits and bites will be served after
Tue. Dec 16– First day of Toy Store (more information to follow)
Wed. Dec 17– Toy Store
Thurs. Dec 18– last day of Toy Store
Fri. Dec 19– Winter wonderland sing a long assembly and movie
3. Pizza orders for the period December 3-January 28th have been submitted. No late orders will be accepted. If you missed ordering pizza for your child this time, watch for the next pizza order block to be posted at the end of January.
4. Last day of classes before the Christmas Break is Friday, December 19th. Classes resume on Monday, January 5, 2015.
