- Smithson’s Jump Rope for Heart event, to raise money for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, will be on Friday, May 20th. You are under no obligation to donate to this cause. If you decide that you would like to support this charity, students are asked to collect pledges in the envelope, or on-line at www.jumpropeforheart.ca If students register on-line, they will receive $5 towards their campaign and a free skipping rope when they get their first donation.
Please remember to put your child’s name, class, and school on the envelope so that he/she receives the correct prizes. Cheques should be made out to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Pledges should be made by Friday, May 20th. All students will participate. Please make sure that your child is wearing suitable footwear for physical activity, has sunscreen, and water, as this is an outdoor event. If it is raining, we will aim to have the event on Tuesday, May 24th.
The Heart and Stroke Foundation are trying to obtain a world record this year for the greatest number of students participating in the event. Even if you have chosen not to collect any pledges, we are encouraging every student to return his/her form by Friday, May 20th. By returning the form, this will provide the proof that your student participated in the event and it will be used to help count how many students participate in the event day. Pledge envelopes will be collected from the school on Friday, May 20th. Prizes should arrive at the school by the end of June.
Thank you for allowing your child to take part in Jump Rope for Heart!
