1. Thursday, April 21st plan to attend Movie Night- Spongebob Squarepants from 6:30 – 8:30 pm,

Doors open at 6:00 pm.  Tickets are $2 each or $5 per family, popcorn and other treats will be for

sale, please bring your own reusable water bottle as there will not be drinks for sale.   Raffle

tickets will be for sale next week for a “comfy” seat at the movie, 25 cents or 5 for $1.  Movie

Night is presented by our Grade 6 class to fundraise for their yearend Camp trip.

 

  1. Our Food Bank Spring Food Drive continues until Wednesday, April 20th. Donations of non-

perishable food items can be brought to the boxes in the front foyer.  Thank you for support-

ing those in need in our community.

 

  1. There will be a PD Day on Friday, April 22nd, no school for students on this day.

 

  1. Mark your calendars Family Math NightMay 4th from 6:00-7:30. Save the date and plan to

attend this evening with your children.  It will be organized in such a way that you can drop in

during this time when it best suits your family.  It will be a hands-on interactive event.  To help us

  1. 6. Safe, Caring & Inclusive School Surveys are Here!

Safe, Caring & Inclusive School surveys are important tools which help schools assess the

current culture within a school. The survey captures perceptions from students, parents, and

staff relating to issues such as character development, equity and inclusion, safe schools, and

variables that contribute to a healthy school environment.

 

Please take the opportunity to complete the Safe Caring and Inclusive Schools Survey, which can

be accessed on our school website at http://smi.wrdsb.ca/ The survey is open until May 13.

 

  1. Our Service Dog Assembly will be on April 25th at 9:15 am. Parents are welcome to attend.
  2. On Saturday April 16, 2016, the Parent Involvement Committee and Waterloo Assembly of Public

     School Councils PRESENTS Strengthening Family-School Relationships: Achieving excellence and

well-being for all students. This event will be held at Bluevale Collegiate Institute, 80 Bluevale St N,

Waterloo with Keynote Speaker: Monique Howat: How to Raise Confident and Motivated Kids. For
