Upcoming Food Drive and Smithson Community Event

Hello everyone! Just wanted to let you know about our  upcoming Food Drive in support our of local Food Bank. This will run from Monday December 2 through to Friday December 13. All classes have “themed,” boxes and teachers will be sending home a message as to the food item theme of each classroom. We will be holding a kick-off assembly next week with a visitor from the Food Bank in attendance. We will also be holding a Smithson Community Event on Thursday Dec 12 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in support of the Food Bank. It will be an evening of musical entertainment featuring our Smithson Choir, a quartet from the University of Waterloo, potential band from Eastwood collegiate, and local blues and jazz musicians John McKinley (granddaughter attends Smithson) and Iva Gobay (son attends Smithson). Price of admission will be a donation to the Food Bank. We will be sending home a letter over the next week indicating how to pre-order tickets. Stay tuned for more details!
