- Online Kindergarten Registration has started for the 2016/2017 school year!
If you have a child, or know of a child in our school catchment area who was
born in 2011 or 2012, they are eligible to attend JK or SK in September 2016.
Parents should register ONLINE at www.wrdsb.ca to register their child for
Kindergarten. If your child is currently attending JK at a WRDSB school, there
is no need to register them again.
Once the online registration has been entered, parents will be invited to the school during
the week of February 8 to 12 to complete the registration process and validate the
information submitted by the online registration. If you have any questions about this
process, please contact the office at (519)578-3890.
2. Pizza orders are online at www.School-Day.com for the next order block of
February 3rd-March 30th (8 weeks). Order deadline is Monday, February 1st.
3. PD Day tomorrow, January 29th. No school for students. Teachers will be working
on Assessment and Evaluation for Term 1 Report Cards. Term 1 Report Cards go
home on February 19th.
4. The Lunch Box lunch calendar will be offering the following options for Feb/March.

order deadline is Sunday for the following week’s order.
5. The Eastwood Travelling Troupe will be performing Crowns, Colours, and Capes for our Smithson
students on Thursday, February 18th.
6. Miss Reis and Miss Bradberry are running a Basketball Club for students in Grades 5 & 6.
Basketball Club will run from Jan 26th-March 11th on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15-4:00.
7. Intramurals for Grade 1-4 students: Miss Bradberry and Mrs. Sergeant are running intramurals for
our Grade 1-4 students. Grades 1 & 2 students will be playing Catchball on Day 1 at the 1st Nutrition
Break. Grades 3 & 4 students will be playing Handball on Day 5 at the 2nd Nutrition Break. If your
child is interested in participating and has not yet signed up, they should see Miss Bradberry or Mrs.
Sergeant next week to, indicate their interest in joining.
8. As a result of recent labour agreements, an additional Professional Activity Day (PA Day) has been
added to the 2015-2016 School Year Calendar for both elementary and secondary students on
Friday, February 26th. There will be no school for students on this day.
9. Popcorn and cookie sales continue every Thursday, at second break in the front foyer. Each bag of
popcorn or individually wrapped cookie will be sold for $1 each, with a 3 item purchase limit per
student. Proceeds go towards this year’s Grade 6 trip.
