- Christmas Carol Assembly will be Thursday, December 17th from 11:45 am–12:30. Parents are welcome to attend.
3. Every year Smithson celebrates the season with a giving initiative. This year, Mrs.
Arnott’s Grade 2/3 and Mrs. Brisson’s Hearing Services classes are leading a
“School Supplies for Refugees” project. Between November 30 – December 15,
we will be collecting school supplies to be put into kits for these children. We
appreciate any items that can be donated, especially backpacks, lunch bags, lunch
containers, locks for lockers, and other items that would be suitable for a great, fresh
start to school.
4. Toonies for t-shirts: Girls and ladies t-shirts and tank tops will be for sale at both
nutrition breaks on Thursday, December 17th . Many styles, colours and sizes are
available (Small-2X). Each t-shirt will be $2.00 with a select few being $5.00.
In addition, t-shirts will be available for purchase before and after our Christmas
Carol Assembly on December 17th as well as, before and after our school Talent
Show on December 18th. Parents are welcome to shop on Thursday, Dec. 17th
from 3:30-4:30 pm in the front foyer as well. Proceeds will go to the Smithson
kindness initiative supporting refugees.
- Popcorn and cookie sales continue every Thursday, at second break in the front
foyer. Each bag of popcorn or individually wrapped cookie will be sold for $1 each,
with proceeds going towards this year’s Grade 6 trip.
