  1. Ice Rink Volunteers are needed. Smithson Public School is fortunate to have a community rink on our property.  With the hope of snowy weather arriving soon, our rink is ready for volunteers!!  If you would be able to help with flooding and/or snow clearing this winter on our outdoor rink, please contact the school office at 519-578-3890.
  2. Reminder that the MacMillan’s Fundraiser items will be ready for pick up at the school on Thursday, December 18th between 3 and 6 pm.
  3. Kindergarten Registration will take place at Smithson Public School on Feb 3/15 from 8:30 am – 12:00 pm and on Thursday February 5/15 from 12:00 pm to 3:45 pm. If you have a child, or know of a child in the Smithson catchment area, born in 2011 (JK) or 2010(SK-who is not currently registered in JK), please call the school in January to set up a registration appointment.
  4. Volunteers needed: Our literacy resources were moved this school year to make room for an additional classroom.  We are looking for some volunteers that would be interested in helping sort through these resources so that we can better utilize them for the needs of our students.  If you have some time that you would be willing to dedicate to this project, we would love to have your help.  Please call the office (519-578-3890) if you would be interested in volunteering in this area.  Thank you.
  5. Toy Store is next week Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Please see further details on the Toy Store announcement.
  6. Lost and Found –We have accumulated quite a collection of Lost and Found Items.  These items are on display on tables in our front foyer.  If your child is missing, hats, mitts, sweatshirts, water bottles, etc.  please remind them to check out our lost and found table.  Feel free to stop into the school to have a look for your child’s missing items if you wish.
