Re: Odour in Room 7/Extended Day Classroom

Our Facilities Department, along with an external consulting firm have been working to determine the source of a smell in Room 7 (Kindergarten) which is also our Extended Day room. They have determined that the smell is due to a leak in the floor heating inside the small vestibule attached to Room 7. As a result, they have completed a small renovation to the room, completely sealing off the vestibule to the classroom. They will also be installing a grate in the classroom door to improve the ventilation in the room. This work has eliminated the odour from the room. Air samples have been taken and they show no air quality concerns.

Thank you to all of the families that have been affected. Your patience as we worked to resolve this issue has been much appreciated. As of Monday, October 27, students and staff will be returning to Room 7 and our regular routines will be put back in place. That means that the Extended Day Program will also be operating out of Room 7 again, and the usual doors will be used for drop off and pick up.
